I truly hope that was our greater purpose on earth. I am truly grateful to each and every one of them. We plan to go back on tour later this summer and, me and my brothers, Ron Tyson and Terry Weeks, Temptations for the past 38 years and 24 years respectively, along with Willie Greene, Jr.
I remember that me and my buddy Ron Coleman went to a Club in Richmond California when The Temptations first started touring and they got down. But then everywhere we went, we heard My Girl. As the musical jokes, their nickname the Temps eventually obtained a new meaning with a range of members cycling in and out of the band over the years. Longtime lead vocalist David Ruffin younger brother of Motown solo act Jimmy Ruffin took over for Bryant three years after their founding, while Ruffin himself was unceremoniously kicked out the group in Egos and drugs got in the way.
But he is also a proud grandfather and has taken his year-old grandson under his wing to mentor his musical career. A talented kid from Texas who eventually became a Motown Music legend, Otis is the founder and the last surviving member of The Temptations.
They joined Barry Gordy and Motown Records in and as they say, the rest was history.
